Marie Domenech
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
The Charles County Chamber of Commerce proudly announces the promotion of Marie Domenech to Chief Operating Officer (COO). As COO, Domenech will lead day-to-day operations, streamline internal processes, and oversee program execution.
Domenech’s promotion is a direct reflection of her deep operational expertise, dynamic leadership style, and longstanding commitment to service and community-building. With a proven history in strategic event planning, workforce development, academic advising, and stakeholder engagement, she brings more than 15 years of high-level experience to the role.
As Executive Assistant & Events Planner at the College of Southern Maryland Foundation, Domenech managed fundraising logistics, donor relations, and board coordination—ensuring seamless execution of initiatives that supported institutional development. Her ability to align teams, meet deadlines, and build community trust made her a standout leader in that role.
Her time as Industry Engagement Specialist further demonstrates her capacity to build bridges between education and business sectors. She developed client relationships with companies across Southern Maryland, helped students secure meaningful employment, and ensured that employer partnerships yielded measurable workforce outcomes.
Now, in her elevated role at the Chamber, Domenech will apply that same operational acumen to internal systems, enabling the Chamber to operate with greater efficiency, clarity, and consistency—empowering President & CEO Kathy Guzman to focus on expanding membership, developing new partnerships, and increasing the Chamber’s regional influence.
"Operational excellence is about more than systems—it's about people. I'm honored to step into this role with a focus on clarity, consistency, and connection, all in service of a stronger Chamber and a more vibrant Charles County," said Marie Domenech, Chief Operating Officer.
“Marie is uniquely skilled at creating structure while remaining people-centered," said Kathy Guzman, President & CEO of the Charles County Chamber of Commerce. "Her promotion will allow me to shift my primary focus toward Chamber growth—particularly member recruitment, retention, and forming more strategic partnerships throughout the region.”
With Domenech managing staff operations, programs, and events, Guzman will be free to lead at the strategic level—expanding the Chamber’s presence among underserved sectors, innovating member benefits, and building collaborative initiatives with local governments, nonprofits, and regional development entities.
Marie Domenech’s academic background includes a Master of Science in Education and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania. She has served in multiple director-level positions across higher education, led committees on diversity and inclusion, chaired advisory boards, and overseen student-focused programs that emphasize leadership, equity, and growth.
“Marie has a rare blend of administrative excellence and human connection,” added Guzman. “She’s exactly the type of leader that will help elevate the Chamber’s impact across all of Charles County and Southern Maryland.”
