The Charles County Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit member
organization that is NOT part of the town, county, state, or federal government.
Charles County is governed by county commissioners, the traditional form of
county government in Maryland. There are five commissioners. As of August, 2010,
they are:
- Sam Graves
- Edith J. Patterson
- Reuben B. Collins, II
- Gary V. Hodge
In July of 2010, Charles County Commissioner President, Wayne Cooper resigned
his position.
Maryland State Delegates representing Charles County include:
- Sally Jameson
- Murray Levy
- Peter Murphy
Charles County is entirely located within the 5th Congressional District. The
current representative is Democratic House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer.
